May:  Learn more about Rimsky-Korsakov and one of his famous works, ScheherazadeListen to the first movement of Scheherazade on YouTube

June:  The Composer for the month of June is Maurice Ravel.  One of his most famous compositions for orchestra is Boléro.  Listen to Boléro on YouTube.

July:  Our composer for the month of July is Mozart.   The second movement, or the Adagio movement, of Mozart's Clarinet Concerto is a beautiful work.  Listen to David Shifron perform this movement on YouTube.  Pay particular attention to the range of the clarinet.  Does it sound a little different?  Why is this? 

August:  Our composer for the month of August is Ludwig van Beethoven.   One of my favorite works of Beethoven's is his Symphony No. 7.  Listen to this on YouTube.

September: Our composer for the month of September is George Gershwin.   An American in Paris is a piece I am sure you will enjoy learning about!  Make sure to listen to it on You Tube.  You could also listen to another famous work of George Gershwin's - Rhapsody in Blue

October:  Our composer for the month of October is Johannes Brahms.  Listen to his Second Symphony on YouTube.
